NBA/TMCF INNOVATE THE FUTURE PITCH COMPETITION

YOUR CHALLENGE:

What new, or changes to existing, experiences, products and/or content could the NBA launch that could increase interest with 18-30 year old African Americans while generating sustainable revenue for the league?

IDEATION CONCLUSION:

  • Create an NBA-sponsored tournament in a black community, while inviting black vendors.

  • The app is the only allowed streaming platform.

  • Creation of merchandise representing registrants home town

  • Highlight NBA's involvements in the community to show users how the NBA is involved in Social Justice

REFLECTIONS

This the best pitch competition I have ever participated in. Not only because my team won the first prize ($10,000 each). I also got to shake hands with the NBA deputy commissioner, explore the NBA headquarters, and hold the NBA trophy. It was my first time in New York so I didn't miss the chance to visit Time square, a place I have always wanted to go as a child. It felt like I was living a dream, and I was reminded once again that dreams do come true
